10-12-22   THOUGHTS

Some thoughts this morning on ETERNAL LIGHT and its place in our story!  Let the scripture speak!  What blessings you give us, O God.  

Ps 67:1   God be gracious to us and bless us, [And] cause His face to shine upon us —  Selah.
Ps 84:11   For the LORD God is a sun and shield; The LORD gives grace and glory; No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly.
Isa 66:2   "For My hand made all these things, Thus all these things came into being," declares the LORD. "But to this one I will look, To him who is humble and contrite of spirit, and who trembles at My word.
Mal 4:2 "But for you who fear My name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings; and you will go forth and skip about like calves from the stall.
Isa 49:6   He says, "It is too small a thing that You should be My Servant To raise up the tribes of Jacob and to restore the preserved ones of Israel; I will also make You a light of the nations So that My salvation may reach to the end of the earth."
Isa 60:1-3    "Arise, shine; for your light has come, And the glory of the LORD has risen upon you.  2  "For behold, darkness will cover the earth And deep darkness the peoples; But the LORD will rise upon you And His glory will appear upon you.  3  "Nations will come to your light, And kings to the brightness of your rising.
Matt 4:16-17  "THE PEOPLE WHO WERE SITTING IN DARKNESS SAW A GREAT LIGHT, AND THOSE WHO WERE SITTING IN THE LAND AND SHADOW OF DEATH, UPON THEM A LIGHT DAWNED."  17  From that time Jesus began to preach and say, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."
John 1:4   In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men.
John 1:14  And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.
John 12:35-36a    So Jesus said to them, "For a little while longer the Light is among you. Walk while you have the Light, so that darkness will not overtake you; he who walks in the darkness   does not know where he goes. 36  "While you have the Light, believe in the Light, so that you may become sons of Light."
Acts 26:18 [Paul to Agrippa]  to open their eyes so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the dominion of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who have been sanctified by faith in Me.’
Prov 4:18   But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, That shines brighter and brighter until the full day.
2Pet 1:19     [So] we have the prophetic word [made] more sure, to which you do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star arises in your hearts.

My Prayer:
O Lord, help us to be a people who are of a humble and contrite of spirit, and souls who tremble at Your word.  In awesome ways you have given us your light of truth.  Help us to walk in the light that we may be sons and daughters of light.  Help us to pay attention earnestly so that your light may permeate our hearts.  In Jesus name,    Amen              Pray for Heather
